In the movie, we will see that Jamie will age up. He will leave his high school in search of other heroes and shift his family from El Paso, Texas, to the city of Palmera, which is a fictional city.

We were introduced to this city in the comic mini-series named Blue Beetle: Graduation Day. Many of the things in the movie are the same as in the comic. In the movie, we will see that he gets in control of the Scarab. It is a bizarre alien, an ignored relic of biotechnology.

In the trailer, we can see that the alien bonds with Jamie and provides him with the power to produce a super-strong exoskeletal around his body. He’s even empowered to produce weapons based on his imagination and other tools for his protection. The exoskeleton also provides some immunity from exterior threats.
